Process of CD insert and back cover

We have not finished the CD insert or back cover but here is what thaty look like so far.

This is the insert cover for the cd. We dicided to go for the lyrics of the song. We will put a photo of the group behind the lyrics. We want to do this so it sticks to the conventios of a pop genre.

This is the back cover of the cd. It is not finished yet as we are not sure to keep a theme of black and white or add somecolour. Maybe red or blue.

QR Code

We created a QR code to go on the back cover of the single. We did this by going on the school website and going to curriculum, T&L, web tools and then the QR link. We entered in the one direction website URL  code so that when the code is scanned through technical devices it will go to that website. We though a QR code was an important feature to add to the back of the cd cover because it acts as a type of advertising as the website will promote the band in more products not just a single.

Insert Cover/ back cover

Today we are starting to create the insert cover and back cover for the preliminary piece single. We will most likely take photos incorporated with the genre of pop. The genre of pop usually includes the band members within the insert cover and back cover. In order to stick to the genre conventions we will try and replicate  similar images.



An image like this will most likely be in the insert cover as it portrays the band members as a group but presenting each band members individual personality.



For the back cover we will most likely try and imitate a group photo with the single title somewhere on the back cover.

These features will be included on the advertisement in the magazine in order to gain full marks.

Final song choice for the preliminary piece

Today as a group we have made a decision on what song we will use out of the 4 options.

One Direction - Kiss You

We have decided that we will make the music video quite comical as Callum, Oli and Jem will imitate the band members behaviour.

We as a group have not decided on a song yet. We have a few options varying from mainstream bands to indie/unknown bands.

Why create a preliminary piece?

Its important to create a preliminary piece because when doing the A2 evaluation (or any evaluation) you can compare how skills have developed from the start/practice piece to the final piece of coursework. Also the preliminary piece will give us an insight on what the coursework has to offer. We will be able to practise skills without it being the final piece and also be able to see how well the group gel together during this task.

A2 music video team (Preliminary Piece)

Following AS (filming the thriller opening sequence) I will continue working with the same people as before for the preliminary task;

Main reasons for this is that we all worked well together before and know each member of the team's strengths and weaknesses. We can work on any critical feedback from our AS piece and hopefully improve those areas for our A2 piece.
